ACIES 2024
The San Francisco Senatus ACIES was held on March 16 (Saturday) at Saint Finn Barr Church and started with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered by Father Lawrence Goode, our Spiritual Director. Fr. Raphael Lazier, Saint Finn Barr's Parish Administrator, concelebrated the Mass. In his homily. Fr. Goode reminded spoke of the vital role of the Legion of Mary in the life of the Church. According to him, the Legion organizational system makes it one of the most effective and reliable Church organizations in the work of evangelization. He mentioned the fact that upon being ordained as a young priest, he joined almost all Church organizations available - and it is the Legion of Mary that have stood the 'test of time' It was there then, and still is here now, stronger as it might ever been. He also said however, that it is more challenging to establish new praesidia in San Francisco.
San Francisco Senatus president, Bro. Raymond Frost gave a most inspiring Legion Talk about the Blessed Mother. There were about 60 members who attended. Also in attendance was Sis. Juliet Samonte, member of the Legion of Mary. The former Convent building across the Church has been named in her honor. After the ACIES ceremonies and concluding prayers were recited, Bro. Ando Perlas requested everyone to have a photo of their Praesidium with Fr. Goode.
Reception followed at the Father Goode Hall. It was truly a blessed and memorable day for all of us. We will never grow tired from repeating these words of old... "I am all thine, my Queen my Mother and all that I have is thine."
Thank you all for attending! Thank you too for all who assisted in making this another successful and memorable occasion.
