1) Stockton Comitium:  Our Lady of the Assumption gained 2 active members and also some auxiliary members at a recent Columban drive.  A Fatima celebration in downtown Manteca had a good turnout, with coverage by the local newspaper.  The Modesto Curia is growing in membership and is starting a new praesidium at St. Stanislaus.  A new secretary of the Comitium was elected:  Br. Renato Valdellon. (report prepared by Sr. Connie Ruelos, Stockton Comitium president, and read by Sr. Symkowick, Corrrespondent)

2) Sacramento Comitium:  They had 50% attendance at their meeting, and their plans for the Peregrinatio Pro Christo were very well prepared and carried out.  The comitium has a total of 4 attached curiae and 10 attached praesidia.  Works done include visiting the homebound, door to door visitation, hospital visits, the teaching of C.F.F., and praying before abortion clinics. (See the Report on the PPC on this web site)

3) Anchorage Comitium:  The funds from the sale of the comitium condo were disbursed to the Senatus.  The Comitium has one attached Curia, 4 senior praesidia, 1 junior praesidium and 3 distant praesidia, located in Fairbanks, North Pole and Soldotna.  They have hope that after years without, they will have a Comitium spiritual director. Four members traveled to Soldotna for a visitation and a Columban drive in August, and the people at Mass were very receptive, and 19 people expressed an interest in the Legion of Mary membership.  Almost all the praesidia are undertaking Columban drives.  Sr. Velicaria and Sr. Angela Jimenez visited the Comitium on behalf of the Senatus on September 19.  At the meeting, which was very well run,  there was much discussion about how to increase membership, and about extension to other parishes.  One member flew in from Fairbanks to attend the meeting.  The Junior members have the spirit of the Legion well imparted to them by the Seniors.  The election of the President is upcoming, and a new Treasurer was elected in October.  Their goal for the coming three months is an increase of membership. (report by Sr. Velicaria, Correspondent)

4) North Utah Curia:  A new Curia president, Sr. Joan Maurice, was elected at their October meeting. Sr. Joan is a past President who is a very experienced Legionary.  Also in October,  a new praesidium was affiliated to the Curia:  Our Lady of the Rosary in the city of Tooele.  Senatus plans a visitation to the Curia in early 2010, with the intent to extend the Legion beyond the Salt Lake area to parishes in other parts of the state.  The Salt Lake diocese takes in the whole state of Utah.  (report by Br. Frost, Correspondent)
