4) Sacramento Comitium – Br. Marten congratulated Br. and Sr. Santa Maria for the excellent celebration of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Legion in Sacramento.  The main celebrant at the Mass, Bishop Weigand, former Bishop of Sacramento, praised the Legion and especially the PPC, which he witnessed when he was Bishop of Salt Lake City.  He spoke very highly of  the Legion PPC, and said it is the essence of evangelization.  The affair was very elegant, and well attended by spiritual directors.  Br. Santa Maria thanked Br. Marten, Br. and Sr. Miller, and Br. and Sr. Williams, (all Senatus Members) for attending the celebration and for sitting with the Bishop.  Sr. Santa Maria contacts each officer by phone each month in order to encourage good attendance at the Comitium.  There are four affiliated curiae.  The North area – Grass Valley Curia has asked the Comitium for an itemized accounting of their donations.  The Solano Curia has been very generous with its donations, which helped in the 75th anniversary celebration.   Br. Santa Maria was assured that  it’s OK to give gasoline money to spiritual directors.  There will be a retreat in Clarksburg this coming weekend.  Lastly, Br. Santa Maria pointed out, on an enlargement of the Tessera, that a Latin word which was formerly “ipsa” is now “ipsum” (Report by Br. Santa Maria, President)
