Sr. Maureen wrote about the “perfection of membeship", and asked us to pray for the grace to fill 10 vacant Officerships in the attached praesidia. Also, Sr. praised the 2157 door-to-door calls made during the recent PPC in Santa Rosa.

Below: Monthly Local Reports from the San Francisco Senatus, 130th Meeting, December 11th, 2014.

New Correspondence Office: 2748 Junipero Serra Blvd., , Suite 21, Daly City, CA 94015.

a) Pro-life Activities:
Br. Perlas encouraged Legionaries to get involved with the 40 days for Life campaign, starting Ash Wednesday, Feb18th.
b) Columban Drive:
The recent Columban Drive at St. Patrick's in San Francisco, resulted in obtaining 22 names of possible members, and
one person committed to join right away. The Pastor is very supportive of the Legion and happy with the members.

c) Annual General Reunion of the Senatus: held at St. Finn Barr's in San Francisco. Everyone enjoyed the get together and the great skit.
It was a great grace to have Fr. Bernardo, the Spiritual Director of Our Lady of Palestine Praesidium present, and also Sr. Antonia, who was a
junior Legionary at St. Elizabeth's in San Francisco, before she entered the convent.

d) Apostolate to the Crowd: Six Legionaries worked at the 24th and Mission Bart Station. A lady took Rosaries and medals for her grandson.
They spoke with a boy who attends St. Boniface, and a lady who asked for prayers for her disabled grandson. At the Eddy and Jones Apostolate, there was a demonstration, which dispersed from the area, shortly after the eight Legionaries finished their Rosary. They had many contacts, including a family of four. After the Apostolate ended, the rains began.

e) SF Senatus 2015 Acies: Br. Perlas announced that it will be held this year, at St. Cecilia's. (see calendar for details)

Below, an excerpt from Porta Fidei - Emeritus Pope Benedict urges us to publicly profess our faith: "Confessing with the lips indicates in turn that faith implies public testimony and commitment. A Christian may never think of belief as a private act. Faith is choosing to stand with the Lord so as to live with him. This “standing with him” points towards an understanding of the reasons for believing. Faith, precisely because it is a free act, also demands social responsibility for what one believes.

The Church on the day of Pentecost demonstrates with utter clarity this public dimension of believing and proclaiming one’s faith fearlessly to every person. It is the gift of the Holy Spirit that makes us fit for mission and strengthens our witness, making it frank and courageous." With the Apostolic Letter of 11 October 2011, Porta fidei, Pope Benedict XVI declared a Year of Faith. This year began on 11 October 2012, on the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Ecumenical Vatican Council, and concluded on 24 November 2013, the Solemnity of our Lord Jesus Christ, Universal King.
The Year of Faith has now officially concluded, but The Legion of Mary will continue their ongoing efforts at Evangelization, which remains the central work of the Legion. If you are a Catholic and want to help your Church, please join the Legion of Mary.
