Archived Allocutio October, 2011
 Fr. Lawrence Goode
     Chaplain of the SF Senatus

(This Allocutio was given before the Family Rosary Crusade on October 15th, 2011)

"The Rosary Rally falls during the month of the Holy Rosary.  This will be a special time for us who are Legionaries of Mary.  We will not just be spectators or participating from a distance.  We will be praying and working on this day which is a real opportunity to bring Our Lady to the masses.  We should be promoting the Rally, and passing out flyers before the event.

During the visit of the Holy Father to San Francisco, some years back, we did an apostolate on Geary Street outside Star of the Sea Church.  His suggestion was to bring all the Legionaries from all over the Bay Area to do this.  The Rosary Rally is a wonderful opportunity to evangelize - let’s pray from now until the event begins, and ask auxiliaries to pray.

Remember that we are now a Senatus, a step up from our last status as Comitium. The Leaders of the Senatus, the Officers here, worked very hard to promote the Rally, and have provided excellent leadership - they are to be commended.

When Fr. Peyton came to San Francisco, he asked for a commitment from all, to pray the rosary.  We too, can continue to gather commitments long after the event, and remind people in the upcoming years.  We Legionaries will do it, promote the Rosary, and encourage family prayer and family life."

(Before leaving Fr. Goode gave his blessing to all present)
Finally, the Family Rosary Crusade 2011 website has more information, and also is linked to Facebook".

The Year of the Priest has ended, but please continue praying for
Fr. Goode, Legion Chaplains, and Priests everywhere
