Allocutio (December, 2010)
by
  Fr. Lawrence Goode, Senatus Chaplain

"Since the last meeting, Br. Frost’s father passed away and there was the wedding of Br. Ed and Sr. Angela Miller. [Br. Frost is Senatus Secretary, and Br. and Sr. are two of the hardest workers in Senatus].

My Parish, St. Francis of Assisi, invited the priests from St. Charles for a spiritual retreat..

It's good that there is a serious effort to reach out to Hispanics in San Francisco, especially since they are about to become the majority of Catholics in the Archdiocese.  We must welcome them, especially in parishes that don’t have a Spanish Mass. We should make an effort to break down any anti-immigrant feeling, since  immigration is a good thing for our country. Also, we have to use our ingenuity to encourage people such as the charismatics to become Legionaries... Happy Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, so important for Mexico, and for us. I left an organizing meeting for the feast in my parish, in order to come to the Senatus this evening...

Christmas time is coming, and there is the temptation for Legionaries to “go on vacation”. But it's a great time to work all the harder for the apostolate, as carols and the Christmas Spirit are everywhere....

It's good that St. Cecilia’s praesidium is emphasizing Catholic radio and EWTN
Finally, San Jose Comitium members should go to meet with their Spiritual director, if he can’t come to the meetings."
Afterwards, before leaving, Fr. Goode gave his blessing for a successful PPC, and to the entire Senatus
